2+6y=3*+4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3*?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If the star is a typo: 2+6y = 7 6y = 5 y = 5/6

I helped with the last question like this. I believe the mistake is putting the plus sigh in front of the 4. The problem should read : 2 + 6y = 3 * 4 Is this correct @amiraguma . Is this the problem you are asking to be solved ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if so... 2 + 6y = 3 * 4 2 + 6y = 12 6y = 12 - 2 6y = 10 y = 10/6 y = 5/3 check.. 2 + 6(5/3) = 3 * 4 2 + 10 = 12 12 = 12 (correct)

the one I didn't at the fist one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the * sign supposed to be in there ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if it is supposed to be in there, you do not need the + sign in front of the 4. Now if it was -4, you would need the negative sign. If it just a number, like 3, and there is no sign, then it is assumed to be a positive number.
