For the attached graph, what is the value of: lim x---> -3^- R(x)and lim x---> -3^+ R(x)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

"lim x---> -3^- " means "find what y is approaching as x gets closer and closer to -3 and you approach -3 from the left side"

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

lim x---> -3^+ means you approach -3 from the right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So would lim x---> -3^- R(x)= negative infinity and lim x---> -3^+ R(x)= positive infinity?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

nailed both of them

Yay! thank you!!

you're welcome
