You have two True-breeding pea plants, one with purple flowers (P) and one with white flowers (w). Need to know: 1) What are the genotypes of the two plants? Purple flower plant: White flower plant: 2) Draw a punnett square of the mating between the two plants. 3) Describe the genotype(s) of the offspring. 4) Draw a punnett square of the mating of one of the offspring with true-breeding white-flower pea plant. 5) What are the genotypes of this second generation? Give in ratio format. 6) What are the phenotypes of this second generation? give in ratio format. I'm lost help please!

Well, is purple or white dominant?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Purple is dominant.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, so let: \(P=\)the allele for purple flowers \(p=\)the allele for white flower and P is dominant The fact that you have a white flower means that it's genotype is automatically \(pp\). So then the purple one is either \(Pp\) or \(PP\) because either of these would express the dominant trait: purple flowers.
