-2*+4y=18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You might want to double check the equation you gave us. Also, what should we do with it?

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

@tynesha do you mean this?:\[-2+4y=18\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[-2*+4y=-18\]

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

What is the asterisk there for?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk im tryin to find the elimination

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

So they actually gave you that with the asterisk? Maybe THEY had a typo. Well I am going to help you solve -2 + 4y = -18.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Wait...the elimintation? WHta would that mean? You are not looking for y?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yay okkay thnx sso much but what they mean bout the elimination

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whats the answer

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

I think they might mean that which will you eliminate first. So... \[-2+4y=18\]\[(-18--2)\times4 = y\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thnx alot

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Hold on, so then that would turn into -16 * 4 = y.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

That is the first elimination I guess.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Then the second would obviously be -64 = y
