wht are the similarities of algae and plats
both of chlorophyll....maybe there are some exceptions 2 dis in algae.
some people confuse algae with plants, due to the fact that MOST algae undergo photosynthesis. As @shrutipande9 says they both have chlorophyll (to a large extent). Algae are eukaryotes that can be in single or multicellular, i.e. sea kelp, form (plants are always multicellular). They do not share the same complicated organ system that plants have, especially more advanced plants such as vascular plants, seed plants, wooded plants, and later flowering plants. Blue-green algae, is incorrectly identified as algae, since it is a prokaryote, cyanobacteria (but it is still photosynthetic! It could be the ancient primitive of the chloroplast! Whats with that?).
To add to what @Neuronerd has said, cyanobacteria do not accumulate triacylglyceride (as fat storage material) but produce diacylglycerides and store them in the thylakoid membranes.
