multiplication right?

OpenStudy (jacobbenvenutty):

Multiplication would result in 6x^2 + 27x^2 - 6x^3 - 8x + 20 after the distributive property and simplifying. Since it has 5 expressions it is a polynomial, but that does not make it a 1st degree polynomial which is basically a line on a graph. In order to simplify it for you it is most commonly known as a linear function looking like this: f(x) = ax + b. Hope this helps : )
