I need help. Here is an example from the book f(x)=16t^2+48t+8 So far I have the y intercept: (0,8) the domain: all real numbers and the minimum y=-28 @ x=1.5 I need someone to explain to me how to find the vertex, axis of symmetry, x intercept, and the range. Thanks!

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

how did you find the y-intercept?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My teacher told us it is the last number in the equation always.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Also that is what my graphing calculator said @jdoe0001

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmm... well... how did you get it from the calculator? I mean... what did you do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It has a thing that will tell you the y intercept if you enter the equation

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

anyhow, to get the y-intercept, set x = 0, and solve for "y" anyhow, to get the x-intercept, set y = 0, and solve for "x"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you show me. For the x. I know how to solve to find the y but don't understand how to get the x. S(t)=16t^2+48t+8

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmm, well to get the y-intercept, set t = 0, and solve for "y" to get the t-intercept, set y = 0, and solve for "t"
