PLEASE HELP!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use function notation to write the equation of the line.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. f(x)= 1 B. f(x)= x-1 C. f(x)= x D. f(x)= x+1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@sammyjpod I don't get this one it weird?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, where is the point that is on the y axis? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

On 1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Remember slope intercept form!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct! so now your options are A and D.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now find 2 points, and find the slope! :) what did you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea but idk the points are cofusing :S

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is a point on (-1,0) correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but its kinda off

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no its not :) i think your just seeing it strangely.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so I find the slope intercept form and boom i got answer right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup! all you have to do is find the slope. you already know the y intercept. then you choose your answer!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just to tell you i already knew those points but isnt it too small for a slope intercept form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no. its as small as it gets! all that matters is that its on a point on the grid!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The slope is 1. nothing smaller then that :) hope i didnt just spoil the answer for you haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nah its cool

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thnx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

looks like a linear function with an shift of 1 unit up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea it is linear

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem! let me know if you have anymore questions like this :) i actually like doing them haha they are simple for me. i learned it a while ago.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have alot I wasn't sure if I should post them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There exercises i dont get

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What confuses you? When you are given a problem like this, all you need to do is find the slope and the y intercept. then you can go to the choices, and look for the answer you have :) i find it easier to find the y intercept cause then you can narrow it down(usually) to a few choices.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i dont get 2 more they're weird

OpenStudy (anonymous):

post them! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait so is the answer for this question d?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

isnt it supposed to be f(x)= 1x+1 @sammyjpod

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes or D :) because 1x is the same as x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok
