I need help with this: Explain how heredity and family medical history can play a role in an individual’s personal health. Include examples in your explanation.

OpenStudy (snowxangel):

Are you serious thats easy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOL

OpenStudy (snowxangel):

There are many diseases that an individual can develop which they may have directly inherited from their parents. An example might be sickle cell anemia. Thus, if you know someone has a family history of a disease and you know its pattern of inheritance you can predict what kind of complications that person might have in their own health. Alternatively, there are many diseases that develop which have a multifactorial basis. An example might be hypertension. When you know that an individual has a family history of hypertension you may not be able to precisely predict if they will develop the disease, but you know they may be at risk and they should avoid other risk factors
