can anyone help me please i would really apreciate that

What is the slope of the line passing through the point (4, −2) and perpendicular to the line y = 4x + 2? Write your answer as a fraction.

@Compassionate

OpenStudy (dls):

-1/4

thank you so much can you also show your work so whenever i have something similar i know how to solve?

OpenStudy (dls):

\[\LARGE y=mx+c\] m is the slope Compare with your given equation.. y = 4x + 2 m=4 For perpendicular line just do this.. Reciprocal your "m" and change the sign You may also add to your knowledge that, For perpendicular lines, \[\LARGE m_1 \times m_2=-1\] so if m2 here is ur perpendicular slope,which is -1/m1 hence proved right?

ya

thnx
