HELP! how did the Nullification Crisis affect farmers?

Causes: South Carolina created an Ordinance of Nullification in 1832. It declared that the federal Tariff of 1828 and of 1832 were unconstitutional and South Carolina just weren't going to follow them! South Carolina didn't want to pay taxes on goods it didn't produce. Its economy was already really hurting. The second tariff was supposed to lessen the effects of the first one, but South Carolina didn't like either one of them. Aftermath: Southerners started to question whether President Jackson and the democrats really represented southern interests. South Carolina became very united, but isolated from the rest of the country, especially when it seceded.
