Hello. What is the difference between μg/ml and mg/g^-1? (How can I convert the one unit to the other?)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oups. I think I did a mistake.. the second unit was written as: mg g^-1 (maybe does not need the /)

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

I think the second equation could be rewritten mg/g and what is it supposed to be? Milligrams per ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i g^-1 is the same with /g

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how can i convert μg/ml to mg/g?? is it possible?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mg/g is just a number because they're both grams with different "magnitude" µg/ml does state the weight per volume, though - it's different

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@phanta_seea it is not possible to find the second given the first??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can not convert them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

into each other, mg/g is missing the volume information (ml, L, ..)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if i know the weight of the tissue used???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for example for chlorophylls.. I used a tissue of X grams in 5ml..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

X grams in 5 ml +tissue information if its just g/mg, there is no tissue information

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anyway its a biology thing.. I wil ltry to find more information.. Thank you!

you're welcome
