How do you solve this question using substitution 2r + s = 11 and 6r - 2s = -2? Please help me and explain along the way

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

take the 1st equation and make s the subject, then substitute that into the 2nd equation.

I did n I got a decimal I think I did something wrong

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well you do have a mistake... you need to take care when distributing -2 (11 - 2r)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok yea so its -22 + 4r?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

so you have 6r - 22 + 4r = -2 or 10r - 22 = -2
