is this line that passes through (-6,2) and (4,8)parallel to the line -3x+5y=15?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

what is the slope of the line passing through the two given points?

I dont get the question thats why I need help

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

do you know how to find the slope of a line given two points?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

given two points\[(x_0,y_0)\text{ and} (x_1,y_1)\]the slope of the line going through these points is\[m = \frac{y_1-y_0}{x_1-x_0}\]so what is the slope of the lines passing through \[(-6,2) \text{ and}(4,8)\]?

OpenStudy (ybarrap):

@shakur, you need this slope, because then you can compare with the slope of YOUR equation. If these two slopes are equal, then the lines between the two points are parallel to your equation.

is passing through -3/6 and 3

Am I right
