Need help with differentiation I'll post the pic in a bit

OpenStudy (anonymous):

With # 1 &3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I already did 1a

OpenStudy (psymon):

Okay, so you know how to do implicit if you did 1a, lol.

OpenStudy (psymon):

So is it part b thats the trouble or what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B&c And fractions for#3

OpenStudy (psymon):

well, b just means solve for y and then differentiate. So basically get y by itself. So 9x^2 - y^2 = 1 9x^2 -1 = y^2 y = sqrt(9x^2-1) So now we just differentiate that. Its a chain rule, so we just do the power rule with the sqrt (1/2 exponent) and multiply it by the derivative of the inner portion, 9x^2-1. So that gives us: |dw:1380607593504:dw| Did you get anything like that for 1a?
