You would probably need to write this in row echelon form, or at least that's the way I would solve it.
Its homework but has 4 options, A) Add row 1 to row 2. B) Multiply row 1 by 1/10 . C) Add 5 times row 1 to 10 times row 3 to obtain a zero in the third row, second column position. D) Multiply row 2 by 1/6 .
You want to get this matrix into a nice little form called the row echelon form, where you have 1's on the left of every row, with a right triangle shape: 1 - - - - 0 1 - - - 0 0 1 - - 0 0 0 1 - 0 0 0 0 0.....
This is so that you solve for one variable at a time, rather than taking on all 3 variables at once, and then plugging in your newly acquired value into the row above it, until you reach the top.
Oooh bad grammar, now it's bothering me >.<
so the answer is d then?
That seems to make the most sense. You'd be completing that row in terms of this form, so I think that is correct.
alright ty
