projector port also looks exactly the same... its called serial port. but its a male.. wats shown here is a female... lol u should remember them based on pins or holes

Serial vs. Video: In the D series connectors the DE9 and DE15 are used for serial ports and video ports. Serial uses as few as 3 pins, 5 being more common. That is why it only needs a DB9. Video uses like 12 or 13, which is why they chose the DE15. Oh, and the E part of DE## is the size of the D shell. They also had DA, DB, and a number of others. So when people call the small serial the DB9, they are wrong. The larger one is DB and the small one, which was added later if I recall, is DE. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D-subminiature Way more than you needed to know... hehe. But people called these things by the wrong names for years.
My point is that your question has no solution. They told you to look for a DB-15, which is NOT on the picture. The person that wrote the question does not know their computer science. Which would be a fun fact to point out to your teacher. They are teaching you the wrong thing.
