Both cellulose and chitin are polysaccharides composed entirely of the same monosaccharides, glucose. Cellulose is composed of beta-glucose, a form of glucose, while chitin is composed of N-Acetylglucosamine, a different form of glucose The cell walls of plants are composed of cellulose. The cell walls of fungi and the exoskeleton of arthropods are composed of chitin. Cellulose and chitin are both also commonly used to build the structural support of organisms
