Find the area

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

Hi, \[area = (\frac{ length \ of \ the\ base + length \ of \ the \ upper side \ }{ 2 } ) * height\]

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

so... in ur case... length of the base = 7 m length of the upper side = 5m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hey, I know the formula... but I need to find the height. I'm not sure how to find the height when there's an angle...

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

to find height u have to use trigonometric ratios. r u familiar with that ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Umm, not really... could you explain?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, so the sin value of 45 degrees would be 0.70710678, correct?

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

to be more precise... \[\sin \alpha = \frac{ Opposite \ side \ }{ hypetenus }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So....B/A Typically I have to have the Sin calculated for me online because it is the most confusing thing that I have ever encountered.

In the same way... |dw:1380642353973:dw|
