What is specialization? Explain how eukaryotic cells are specialized.

OpenStudy (azureilai):

specialization is the structural adaptation of a body part to a function. Taking it to a cellular level, it would be the "different" types of eukaryotic cells in an organism. For example, in a human, we have muscle cells, and we also have nerve cells, etc. Even though they are both eukaryotic cells, the functions that they have are different.

when embryo is being developed, the stem sells are being specialized in 3 layers, epiderm, mesoderm and ectoderm, each layer will later become skin, connective tissue, muscular nervous systems etc.
