How to factor 5n2+41n+42 (Five "n" squared + 41n +42)

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well the method I use is multiply the coefficient of the leading term by the constant 5 x 42 = 210. now find the factors of 210 that add to 41 thats the 1st step

Okay thanks

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

so when you get the factors of 210, one is 6 write it as the product of 2 binomials \[\frac{(5n + factor 1)(5n + factor2)}{5}\] check the binomials for common factors...that will cancel with the denominator. this leaves the factored form

Okay thanks! I'm going to try it and see what I get
