Help me! 2a(5a^3b^5)^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you asking to simplify?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm kind of confused what to do when it's like (x)^3 or like 2a(a^2) <-- Examples I have problems with. Idk what to do with the single x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, 2a(5a^(3)*b^(5))*(5a^(3)*b^(5)) 2a(25a^(6)*2b^(10)) 50a^(7)*4b^(10) 200a^(7)*b^(10)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, 3rd line is suppose to be 2a(50a^(7)*4b^(10))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's really hard to read :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry, basically, when you are multiplying an exponent by another similar exponent: (x^3*x^3), you add the exponents (x^6)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What if it's just x*x^3? Is it x^3 or x^4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x^4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because, it is literally x^1*x^3 therefore when you add it is x^4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What if it's (2x*x^2)^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is then much more difficult. remeber, you are multiplying (2x*x^2) 3 times, so it is (2x*x^2)*(2x*x^2)*(2x*x^2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, basically, to do it simpler. just take (2x^3)^3 so the answer is 8x^9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay(: THANKS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Reason why, is because when you take an exponent to the exponenth: (x^3)^3, it is multiplied

Please recommend me, or whatever you do for this site =P
