this sounds like a fun assignment but any ideas? Historians have learned a great deal about the Crusades from chroniclers like William of Tyre and Ibn al-Qalanisi. Today, reporters and newscasters travel all over the world to report on international events, including conflicts. Imagine what we might know had there been journalists with access to television, cell phones, and social media in the 13th century. Time for you to take on the responsibility of being an international journalist! You are using social media to report the thick of the action of the Crusades!

Well, it seems a fun assignment. I would include details about the events and the historical figures involved in each time period like for example that I only knew first crusade was in the near East and involved Anatolia, Levant, and Palestine. So it was a military expedition aimed at reclaiming the Holy Lands that the Muslim conquest of the Levant had acquired. Around 1095 ,the Pope Urban II launched the Crusades in hopes of the Byzantine Emperor Alexius I's request of gaining western volunteers to come to his aid. I hope it helps. Lol. (:

Just adding to MakeAWish's great suggestion; you can also pick from a wide variety of viewpoints from which to report from. The Crusades were largely made up of regular folk - peasants, farmers, people down on their luck looking for redemption - who joined up in the hopes of cleansing their lives of sin or simply to find themselves. Nobles had also joined the Crusades, many giving up their property and wealth in search of fortune, glory, or in support of their faith. If you were a noble reporting from the front lines, would your tweets speak of missing home? Of gaining gold? Or hoping to bring honor to your family? If you were an 'ordinary person', would you be tweeting about how hard the journey is? Would you miss the fields of France? Are you hoping to start a new life? Or do you pray every day simply to live just one more just so you can see Jerusalem? It sounds like a fun assignment, so have fun with it!
