*MEDAL* Which equation best represents the line graph? y = -x + 4 y = x + 4 y = x - 4 y = -x - 4

@austinL Can you help you please? :o

OpenStudy (austinl):

Well, we have slope-intercept form. \(y=mx+b\) Where b is your y-intercept. Where does this graph cross the y axis?

OpenStudy (austinl):

@NobodySpecial hello?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, sorry. I had to go grab lunch. my bad.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = 4

OpenStudy (austinl):

Yep, so that removes two answers. You are left with, y = -x + 4 y = x + 4 Is the slope positive or negative?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = -x + 4? Here's why i think that. On the x-axis, the line is going through -x (-4) and on the y-axis the line is going through positive 4...right? :o

OpenStudy (austinl):

Nope, -x means that it is a negative slope. |dw:1381339839224:dw| |dw:1381339858537:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so y = x + 4 then?

OpenStudy (austinl):

Indeed!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks, Austin! :D

OpenStudy (austinl):

No problem!
