*MEDAL* Please help me solve this.

-1y+34 is the answer because the x's cancel themselves out y=-34 <-ANSWEr

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my choices are (-4, -3) (-3, -4) (4, 3) (3, 4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

start by putting all variables on one side of the equal sign, numbers on the other

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first answer choice is going to be ur answer im pretty sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first one could be \[4x-3y=-7\] then leave the second one as \[-4x-4y=28\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now solve by adding \[4x-3y=-7\\ -4x-4y=28\] add and the \(x\) drops out, leaving \[-7y=21\] and so \(y=-3\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since you only have once choice with \(y=-3\) pick that one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh I see now! But beside the rule-out thing (since it's multiple choice), I would do this, right?: -4x - 4(-3) = 28 -4x + 12 = 28 -4x = 16 x = -4
