I know the answer idk how to figure it out ? help :(

OpenStudy (jebonna):

wat

OpenStudy (anonymous):

question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know the answer is x^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what value raised to the power of 6 = x^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

btw x^2 is not correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or is it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's what the question said it was.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When I worked it out i got x^1/2..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

me too, is there any additional info?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is very odd where they have placed the parenthisis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it has something to do with the 3 being outside the parenthesis but still underneath the radical.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah /:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let me see if my calculator can do 6th root

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok using 5 in place of x I got 2.236067977, let me see if I can reverse engineer it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, x^1/2 still makes sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

even when I used 5 for x I get the equivalent of x^1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh well, it's ok. thank you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2.236067977^6 = 125 and that verifies it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2.236067977 = 5^1/2 2.236067977^6 = 125 5^3 = 125 x=5 it will work for any value of x
