Choose the equation of the line passing through the point (3, -2) and parallel to y = 3x - 6. y = 3x + 7 y = 3x - 11 y = -3x + 11 y = -3x - 12

OpenStudy (anonymous.):

I got y=3x+11

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

parallel means that their slopes are the same so m=3 do you do this with slope-intercept form or other?

OpenStudy (anonymous.):

y-2=3(x-3) y-2=3x-9 y=3x+11

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

I see... it is y-y1=m(x-x1) so y-(-2)=3(x-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous.):

The answer is y = 3x - 11 :D

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

yes :)
