when writing a persuasive essay You should always offer an explanation after your call to action so the reader does not feel ___________________.
Well, what do you think?
Well excuse me for asking for help on a study help site.
As you said, "study help." Not an answers site. Giving answers is not studying. OpenStudy Code of Conduct http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct The top two rules you agrred to when you signed up for this site: Be Nice - I will stay positive, be friendly, and not mean Give Help, Not Answers - I will encourage and guide those needing help, and not just give them an answer So, I'm following rule #2, do you want to follow rule #1? Normally a fill in the blank has a set of particular words from a class. I could pull any of a dozen proper ones from a dictionary. The chances of them being the right one for your question are basically almost none. So, if you don't have a guess, I can't say if it makes sense. If you don't have some possibilities, there is nothing to discuss. Oh, and if you want to know more about the site policies, read the rules or talk to the people with purple names. They are moderators who have the duty of making sure the rules are followed.
I didn't ask for the answer, I asked the question, if you knew where to find the answer because I can't find it just let me know hey, you can find the answer and why that is the answer here, and I am being nice, you saying 'well what do you think?' came across sarcastic and snarky, don't know if that's how you meant it but that's how I received it, just a word of advice for future answers to peoples questions.
Well that was a fun time to have the site disconnect... anyhow... If someone asking for your thoughts comes across to you as sarcastic and snarky, then you are going to have a lot of problems on this site. A very large percentage of the people that actually tutor here do exactly that: ask the learner's thoughts. A lot of the time that is because many questions are incomplete or unable to be explored as asked. Another reason is because of the Socratic Method and its children, which is a form of teaching through the use of exploratory questions. Next, if you feel that someone is putting emotion into plain, inquisitive words... words with no additional context at all... then the emotion is completely on your side. For plain words to have emotion, you need tone of voice. There is none here. If I had used emotive words, it would be a completely different case. For example, if I had said, "Well why don't you know this?" it is not plain. It has a connotation. Same with, "That one is easy!" But I said neither of these things. I just asked what you thought because a learning process starts with what you do and do not know and goes from there. As I said, I know several answers to that question that are valid. However, they may not apply to your particular class or needs.
This site is my last resort, I feel like cheating when I use it. I'm just asking for a better understanding, I am in Honors Sophomore English, and I have tried everything I can think of, I go to Primavera and so I can change this answer as many times as I want until I get it right but I don't even know how to attempt to answer it. I have tried everything from stupid to angry and it wont take anything.
well @alyssajobug , e.mc is one of the best users you can find... he is a site moderator. Please do not cheat, it is not very honest and does not reflect integrity.... perhaps you don't care and are probably rolling your eyes; I would know, I too am in honors sophomore english. Just please, learn honestly
I am! They're the one saying I'm not! I'm just trying to understand it and e.mc isn't helping! I dont like asking for help but I have no idea what else to do! Are you able to help me figure out this question?
Personally, I think it so they do not feel it is a bandwagon appeal. Look for things your text goes over about making the audience feel like they are being lead by the nose or lied to.
I did, I took the answers I tried straight from the book but my teacher insists there is no glitch in the system, I'm not sure how to figure it out if nothing in my textbook is the answer, I was hoping it was a general question some one would be able to give me a website where it lists out the rules for writing a persuasive essay on... guess not, I guess I'll just have to get it wrong because I have no idea what to do otherwise.
The strange thing is, a call to arms is normally the end of a persuasive essay. The explanations usually come before. Otherwise you risk sounding like a bandwagon appeal or an irrelevant appeal of some sort or another. Those are formalized forms of fallacies.
Ya, thats what i found, i dont know how to answer that, but i dont have enough info to answer the question
I am as flabbergasted as you that it was not one of the terms in your book. Normally those are a term... which can be really picky on spelling, hyphenation, caps, etc, ...or they are an open ended question to be graded by the teacher.
Ya, im just goingo skip it and hope it doesnt affect my grade too much.
I hate it when that is the best choice!
Ya, me too but not much to do otherwise thanks though.
