explain how i would determine wheather a quadratic will have a vertex that is a maximum minimum? how would i be able to tell from the graph its self
ok the maximum i know that part but im trying to figure out the equation part
how i woulkd find it by looking at the equation
oh ok so wait i think im wrong than
so that means that if the quadratic has a high power it will have a high maximum ??
ugh
In general, for a quadratic equation of form: \[ax^2+bx+c\] \(a\) is referred to as the "leading co-efficient"; If \(a\) is positive, then the parabola will open upward and have a minimum If \(a\) is negative, then the parabola will open down and will have a maximum. Always haha
that is so easy Thankyou
Basically, the reason for this lies in calculus but for the purpose of studying quadratics, knowing that: Positive \(a\) = minimum Negative \(a\) = maximum Is sufficient haha no problem
