Find the value of x and y.

You know that one of them is 47 degrees, which corresponds to the x on the other triangle, so it must be the same measure. Every triangle measures 180 degrees, so the sum of x and y has to equal 180. Can you guess how you'll find the y?

I have no Idea how to find it @jcari

OpenStudy (anonymous):

47 degrees in the triangle to the right is in the same position as x in the left triangle, so x = 47. Now you have one of the angle measures. If a triangle is equal to 180 degrees, you can use 180 to subtract 47 from, to get the measure of y. So y would be 180-47 = 133 Hope that helps.

yes that does help , and thanks for explaining it that helped me

You're welcome : )

OpenStudy (raden):

the first 2 angles equal 180, what is the rest ? @jcari

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@RadEn What other parts are you looking at?

OpenStudy (raden):

you said x = 47 and y = 133, right ?
