What is a paradox? Are any of these paradoxes? "measureless measures" "the name of a nameless air" "the stillness is all in the key of that desolate sound" (the sound referring to silence)

OpenStudy (artsy_brian):

Paradox is like an incoherent state that contradicts itself. A few of the example that i always think of are I "Agree to disagree" that paradox is a self explanatory statement. Can you give nothing as a gift? "oh, god,It's cold like h.ll!" All those examples are self contradictory due to the opposite use of words to reflect what the statement is.

OpenStudy (artsy_brian):

And yes, those examples you gave are a paradox

I don't think "agree to disagree" is a paradox. A paradox is a statement that seems to contradict itself but might be true. Or makes sense until you really THINK about it. Zeno's paradox about the arrow, for instance.

Waterpologoalie, just ask yourself, Can I measure something that's measureless? The paradoxical part is that they both are about measuring, isn't it?

thanks @Artsy_Brian @DonaldRoyMiller

waterpologoalie, are you interested in Zeno's paradox? It's fun, and you WILL come across it in your math class. Here's a good video on it-- www.youtube/watchv?=EfgVnj-sgcc Let me know what you think.
