Can you define "Militia Act"? I appreciated .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The Militia Act of 1862 is a law enacted during the American Civil War that allowed African Americans to participate as war laborers and soldiers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The Militia Act from 1792 is different. It says:On this day in 1792, Congress passes the second portion of the Militia Act, requiring that every free able-bodied white male citizen of the respective States, resident therein, who is or shall be of age eighteen years, and under the age of forty-five years be enrolled in the militia.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A Militia is an army that is made up of people that are not professional fighters. Anyone who is uninjured and able to fight must fight. A subset of these who may be legally penalized for failing to respond to a call-up.

So I guess a Militia Act would be where a country forces people to fight if they are able to.
