f'(x) is the function of the slope of f(x). if f'(x) > 0, the y values are increasing as the x values are increasing if f'(x) < 0, the y values are decreasing as the x values are increasing is f'(x) = 0, the slope is 0 so it is the point where the graph switches from increasing to decreasing or vice versa i will draw the graph
