Match the missing term with the perfect square trinomial 9x^2 +?+25

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Square root of first term square root of last and double the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(3x+25)2= (6x+50)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's false, thomas.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

No it is not

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

30x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How so?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

3*5*2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If it is a perfect square trinomial, then they both must begin with 3x (because 3x times 3x = 9x^2) And they both must end with +5, as 5^2 = 25 So the binomials MUST be (3x+5)(3x+5)...now multiply to get your answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh I c my mistake.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Easyaspi314, yup, and that's what i did! knowing that it is 2ab for the middle term.
