what is the vertex of the function y=3(x-7)+4

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

As the equation is presented in Vertex Form, this is an eyeball problem. Just look at it and write down the answer about as quickly as you can read it. Vertex: (7,4) Done. I assumed you meant y = 3(x-7)^2 + 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, that's what I thought as well but the equation is written correctly

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Well, then it makes no sense. (x-7)^2 or |x-7| THEN the re is a vertex. There is NO vertex with just (x-7)
