Here's a tough one about vector fields. So I have a vector field with all arrows pointing radially to a center point, and the magnitude of the vectors getting bigger towards the outside. To help me find the original vector function f(x,y) of this, I was told that the magnitude of each arrow is equal to the magnitude of the function divided by 4. Now, can anyone help me find the function of this? I'm still trying to figure out scalar and vector fields so I'm kinda stuck on this one.

the bigger the magnitude, the steeper the slope ....

sounds like some parabolic cone to me

OpenStudy (amistre64):

does the vector field look like this? |dw:1383224742916:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

almost, but no, the magnitude of the vectors decreases towards the center
