Which of the following correctly predicts what would happen to a body cell if its processes were interrupted during mitosis? (2 points) Cells would begin dividing uncontrollably. Chromosomes would not separate into two nuclei. Chromatids would not be fully developed. The cell would not be able to grow any further.

If you remember cell division, mitosis is the division of cells. 1) This answer is clearly wrong. If we stop cell division, why would cells divide more? 3) Chromatids are fully developed for nearly the entire duration of the cell. A chromatid is the duplicated copies of chromosomes usually attached to another chromatid by a centromere. This answer doesn't work either. 4) The cell grows not during the mitosis phase, but in the interphase (more specifically the G1 phase). That leaves us with 2) Chromosomes would not separate into two nuclei. This happens during the anaphase of mitosis. 2 is the correct answer.
