Throughout the entire history of the world, in any nation, there were and are people that are not satisfied with wealth and ease of life; they need power- to be above the rest of the people, to subjugate them. Although power generally ruins the ruler's life creating enemies that encroach to kill him at any cost and in any way, so that they can have his power, people that want power don't recognize that, and they still want to seize the throne. Power can corrupt even the best, altruistic and noble people, and we see that in Macbeth not just once. The more common and the classic example of a person corrupted by the power is Macbeth- someone next in line to the throne who removes all of the hindrances at any cost to become a king. Macbeth is blinded by the power, knowing that he will become a king, being that he absolutely believed in the prophecy of the witches, he still killed many people and even families just to fasten his coronation. In fact, the ambition for the power majorly corrupted him, turning from honest and noble man into dishonest and dastardly murderer. Another good example of a character corrupted by the power is Lady Macbeth, the wife of Macbeth. She also has a the same ambition as Macbeth, she wants to become a queen and they work their goal together. In contrast to Macbeth, she is not “blinded”, her actions have more villainy and sneakiness which are explicitly seen when she makes a self-possessed and ruthless plan to kill Duncan, yet she doesn't kill Duncan herself to avoid any problems that she would have because of that, rather, she persuades Macbeth to kill him. The witches, although they know that none of them will ever become a king, they are still purposely misleading Macbeth from the right path. There must have have been a reason for such a deed, and what else if not their want to influence the political activities of those times. What makes more corrupt than Macbeth and his wife is the fact that not only changing the course of the political events is patently purposeless for their political careers, because they are just old women without noble birth who won't make any political career what so ever, but also they won't get anything out from Macbeth being a king monetarily, it makes no difference for them who the king is; yet they still try to change the course of political events, in what they become successful. Apparently the witches are corrupted by power as well, since they try to change the kingship or the ruler despite the fact that it is useless and pointless for them. There is a clear evidence for the tendency to corrupt in Macbeth from Macbeth, Lady Macbeth and the witches. Although all of them were different in their actions and views on what was going on in the story, they had no other reasons for what they were doing besides having or influencing on who is having the power, which means that they were corrupted by the power, and therefore the power corrupts people. 5 paragraphs #1- Introduction #2- 1st body #3- 2nd body #4- 3rd body #5 - conclusion
