What are the different types of Interdependent relationships?
Mutualism: an association between 2 organisms of different species whereby both benefit. Commensalism: a relationship between 2 species whereby one benefits from the association and the other neither benefits nor suffers. Parasitism: a relationship whereby 1 species (parasite) lives on or in another organism (the host) for, often harming the host during the process.
Do you know any examples? Thank you, though.
Mutualism: Lichen is made up of algae and fungus; the algae, which is green and is able to photosynthesize, produces food for itself and the fungus, whereas the fungus takes in water for the algae, and together they form the lichen. Commensalism: a flatworm attaching to the horsecrab and eats the crabs food and the crab is unaffected. Parasitism: a tick feeding on a dog, a mosquito feeding on a human or a leech feeding on a human.
Mutualism: birds eating bugs off a rhino. Commensalism: Dung beetles eating elephant dung. Parasitism: Hookworm in a dog.
