sinx=2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't understand what you want us to do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you cant find the inverse sine of 2- math error

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Give us more information...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just ran the inverse sine of 2 and it reads math error so ..., thanks hothand621 for pointing that out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

original problem was sin squared x -2sinx =0 Then i factored out a sin and got sin(sinx-2) sin= 0 sinx=2 Directions: use inverse functions where necessary to find all solutions of the equation in the interval

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sin ^{2} - 2 \sin x = 0\]

myininaya (myininaya):

If you recall the range of sin(x) is [-1,1], then you don't need to pull out some fancy calculator to determine there is no solution to sin(x)=2.

myininaya (myininaya):

Now. I didn't say sin(x) couldn't be 0. After all, 0 is in the interval [-1,1].

myininaya (myininaya):

We still don't need a calculator to find when sin(x) is 0. We could just use our handy dandy unit circle.

Thanks! @myininaya
