two altitudes of an isosceles triangle are equal to 20 cm and 30 cm. Determine the possible measures of the base angles of the triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sides or altitudes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

altitude.. THanks :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

two sides are 20 and the other side is 30?

Directrix (directrix):

Here is what I am thinking about this problem: Altitudes drawn to the legs of an isosceles triangle from the vertices of the base of the isosceles triangle are congruent. So, one of the altitudes must be drawn from the vertex angle of the triangle given that the altitudes have measure 20 and 30.

@java80 only the altitudes are given, so it is inside the triangle.

THank you @Directrix, still can't understand it. |dw:1383460738870:dw|

@Directrix Thank you so much..

Directrix (directrix):

You are welcome. I read through the work of @Edwin . It appears to be correct to me.

@Directrix same on me.. It's actually the correct answer.. Thank you very much :)...
