Use the unit circle to determine exact values of the primary trigonometric ratios for each angle. 1) 2pie/3 (Answer sin 2pie/3 = 3sqroot/2) Not sure how to do this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you have a unit circle there in front of you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You need one to do this problem. Here's one: http://www.regentsprep.org/regents/math/algtrig/ATT5/600px-Unit_circle_angles_svg.jpg Seen it before?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yess I have seen that before

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. sin(angle) = y-coordinate / 1 What is the y-coordinate of the point for the angle 2pie/3 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I honestly don't know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just read it right off of the chart. You see 2pi/3 on the chart?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yes, where it says 120 degrees

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-1/2, 3sqroot/2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes! You can use that x and y to get all of the trig functions. sin.....y / 1 cos....x /1 tan....y/x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

soo sin would be y/1, so 3sroot/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then cos is x/1, sooo -1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh I get it, wow thanks :) I'll print that sheet out
