theta is the angle where the sin is x/5. So what would be the tan of theta? It will be x/? You find ? using Pythagorean Theorem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tan=sin/sqrt(1-sin^2). sin(arcsin(x))=x. tan(arcsin(x))=x/sqrt(1-x^2). Thus tan(arcsin(x/5))=(x/5)*1/sqrt(1-(x/5)^2))
