Read the passage and then answer the question that follows. In the final analysis, the government has not done enough to protect the endangered species of the rain forest. In the passage above, the transition in the final analysis is used to emphasize a point provide an example summarize an idea show passage of time

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

If the multiple-choice answers are in a - b - c - d format, it should be c) summarize an idea, because "final analysis" has a meaning akin to "conclusion" or "hypothesis".

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's b) provide an example.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k I have 8 more

Read the passage and then answer the question that follows. Swimming with the dolphins was, without a doubt, the most peaceful moment in my life. In the passage above, the transition without a doubt is used to emphasize a point provide an example summarize an idea show passage of time

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

Ask away~ lols

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hope I get an A

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

This one would be to emphasize a point (choice a) because it says "without a doubt" which means that the author is trying to put emphasis on "swimming with the dolphins". I hope you get an A too!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx so much ur very helpful

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Read the passage and then answer the question that follows. The campers ignored warnings and consequently a bear ransacked their food in the night. In the passage above, the transition consequently is used to emphasize a point provide an example summarize an idea show passage of time

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

You can delete the mistake post lol :3 The transition is used to provide an example as it shows a scenario and then tells of the consequences from making a bad decision.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow ur flying through these and so its B

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

Yes, it's choice b. Sorry, I forgot to put that. ^^;;

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

Hold on - I'm going to go answer another question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

HOLY F*** UR SUPER SMART I READ ALL OF THAT

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

Well, I deleted it because I felt like a braggart lolol xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Read the passage and then answer the question that follows. The least weasel is the world's smallest carnivore. Despite its size, it is surprisingly fierce. Its bravery and hunting skills are well documented. On several occasions, it has been known to kill prey up to ten times its own size. All things considered, it may just be the toughest predator on land. In the passage about the least weasel, which transition is used to emphasize a point? All things considered Are well documented On several occasions Surprisingly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what does xD mean?

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

Hmm. I'd say a) All things considered, because that phrase is being used to collectively (with all the previous facts) emphasize the last point - that "[the least weasel] may just be the toughest predator on land". xD means a laughing face. Just turn it to the right and you'll see (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

Or rather... |dw:1383605663334:dw| If that helps~

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its bravery and hunting skills are well documented. On several occasions, it has been known to kill prey up to ten times its own size. All things considered, it may just be the toughest predator on land. In the passage about the least weasel, which transition is used to introduce an example? All things considered Are well documented On several occasions Surprisingly

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

Er, you already put that :p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1383605760918:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

read both of them

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

Oh. That face is hilarious! xD I would say b) are well documented, because that is a legit example (I abbreviate) of factual proof. (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2 more

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

Shoot! :p I'm ready, I'll procrastinate and not do my homework lols :3

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

Well. That's very repetitive... They could have just said "The following passage applies to the next [# of questions] problems"... The answer is .... wait a minute! Didn't I already answer this?

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

Oh. Crap. No, this one is a). The one about emphasizing is c) -_- Sorry, I messed up D;

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

The emphasizing one is c) On several occasions, because it is providing proof to back up the previous statement.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Read the passage. Next, match the transition with the paragraph in which it would best be used. Growing up, I really misunderstood wolves. Fairy tales, —1— "The Three Little Pigs", gave me a false impression. I pictured wolves as big, bad creatures that could blow down houses. As a teenager, horror movies confused me —2—. I envisioned wolves as bloodthirsty beasts or humans trapped in another form. —3—, things changed. In college, I went camping with friends. I witnessed my first wolf up close. —3—, I finally understood the beauty and grace of the majestic creature. Transition paragraph Match Term Definition — notably A) paragraph 3 — even further B) paragraph 1 — in the end C) paragraph 2

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

You did get my previous correction, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

All right. --- c) Paragraph 2 is even further, a) paragraph 3 is in the end, and since there's no other option, b) paragraph 1 should be with notably. Paragraph 2 goes with "even further" because it is a continuation of the beginning impression of wolves, Paragraph 3 is "in the end" because it shows the conclusion in which the narrator finally realizes "the beauty and grace of the majestic wolf", and Paragraph 1.... I don't really get it, but it probably has something to do with the context that this passage was most likely in .-.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wha

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

Confused? c: Sorry, I did my best lol xD
