OpenStudy (anonymous):

the building blocks of dna are?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

adenine, guanine, cytosine, and... I forget the last one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thymine

OpenStudy (adrynicoleb):

I just checked my bio notes and they said proteins. I don't know for sure if its right unless you're doing the same assignment I am doing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

those are actually the amino acids that make up dna, which is actually deoxyribonucleic acid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey, kayyyyyyy, we need ur help here

OpenStudy (adrynicoleb):

lol we are suppose to be helping them. Your answer sounds good. My notes said that dna was the building blocks of protein, not the other way around, so you are probably right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The building blocks of DNA are the nucleic acids, which are called guanine, adenine, thymine, and cytosine or G, A, T and C for short. (In double-stranded DNA, a C always links to a G in the other strand and an A to a T. A and G are called "purines" and are slightly larger than T and C which are called "pyrimidines"; so a purine always links to a pyrimidine.) ((DNA is the recipe to form proteins, a sequence of three nucleic acids (DNA) codes for one amino acid (proteins))
