OpenStudy (anonymous):

x+2x=6 3x=6 Divide both sides by 3, x=3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I second that

help! this is due in 10 minutes!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that my answer is correct lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they gave you y=2x, so you just plug in what y equals which is 2x into the equation. that is how you get x+2x=6. You then add both of the x's together which gives you 3x=6. to find out what x is, you need to get x by itself. To do this, divide both sides by 3. You get x=3 for your answer
