OpenStudy (ray10):

Above table shows the ages of kids enrolled in a child care centre. Find the average age to one decimal place

OpenStudy (ray10):

Age : Frequency: 0. 3 1. 6 2. 11 3. 5 4. 9

OpenStudy (ray10):

I cant post the table. Because I'm on my phone >.<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Average = (Sum of all the numbers in the list) / (how many numbers) That should help.

OpenStudy (ray10):

I just tried posting the table. It's got frequency of ages

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Frequency just means how many times that age appears. So if the frequency of age 3 is 2, there are 2 children age 3. Or if the frequency of age 7 is 9, there are 9 kids that are 7 years old. Add up the age of everyone in the class, then divide by the number of kids. That's the average age.

OpenStudy (ray10):

Ah thank you very much!! I appreciate that :) the frequency part caught me off guard. I hadn't worked too much with tabulated data before >.

No problem. Good job.
