Which of the following is an arithmetic sequence? -2, 4, -6, 8, ... -8, -6, -4, -2, ... 2, 4, 8, 16, ...

hartnn (hartnn):

arithmetic sequences have common differences between the terms called 'd' d= 2nd term - 1st term = 3rd term -2nd term = 4th term - 3rd term =.... and so on

hartnn (hartnn):

so for which of these series, the difference between the terms is same ? that will be the arithmetic sequence :)

@lidah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sooo the answer is?

hartnn (hartnn):

did you try to find it following my instruction ? its pretty easy by the way...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Make some effort to try it urself

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it the first one?

hartnn (hartnn):

did you try the 2nd one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why do u think so it is the 1st one btw

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because it goes by 2's

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is the 2nd one because the difference is -2

hartnn (hartnn):

but we are not checking whether it goes by 2 or not we are checking the difference between terms

hartnn (hartnn):

so is 4- (-2) equal to -6-4 ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

+2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooohhh now I get it!

hartnn (hartnn):

you get it ? can you tell how ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@lidah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How u get that @lidah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think i was incorrect probably

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i deleted my post

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thin so How did u get it the 2nd one by the way??
