The 4 numbers that are multiplied together have to be negative, right? Because negative divided by negative is positive. So, now focus on the 4 numbers that are multiplied together. These 4 numbers are the factors they're talking about. _____ x _____ x _____ x _______ = Negative Think about the signs those 4 blanks have to have.
If none of them are negative...will that result in a negative?
whaa i dont get this:(
lol
that is meh right there
Think about the signs those 4 blanks have to have in my equation above. Lets go through the answer choices. If none of them are negative...will that result in a negative?
Can positive x positive x positive x positive = negative ?
no
ohh i get it
so its not the first one. 2nd one can negative x negative x negative x negative = negative ?
If you have an odd number of negatives multiplied, you end up with a negative even number, positive
example -1 x -2 x -4 x -2 2 x -4 x -2 -8 x -2 = 16 that's positive...so the answer is not the 2nd one ....slow down agen0smith...we're going through these one by one to make sure we get it.

"Jenna multiplied four numbers together and then divided by -2. The result was a positive value." That means: (4 numbers multiplied ) divided by (-2) = Positive So....the 4 numbers multiplied MUST be Negative. You get that?
THANKYOU @agent0smith but you guys got this.:)
You know what. I give up! I think I've done a pretty damn good job of working to help you understand this. Give yourselves a bunch of medals. Later...
@BangkokGarrett no need to get mad:) Its all good...
@samtab start writing down and multiplying negatives and seeing what you get...eg \[\Large (-1)(-1)(-1)(-1) = 1\] \[\Large (-1)(-1)(-1)(1) = -1\] you will have to actually try this yourself, though.
wow someone is madddd
