Can someone help me with this?

I followed how the book did it and got -8(x - 3)^2 which SHOULD be right, but the book got something totally different and I'm 100% sure that it's wrong (even though it's the book)

OpenStudy (lifeisadangerousgame):

wait..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y-1 = r(x-3)^2 //applying transformations to the vertex -3-1 = r(5-3)^2 //plugging in a point on the curve, now solve for r to get r = -1 then, y-1 = -(x-3)^2 // equation with r y = -(x-3)^2+1 //final equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What likely happened was a problem when you solved for r, -4 = r(2)^2 Then you probably subtracted 4 from both sides rather than dividing by 4, giving you -8 rather than -1

Yea that's what I did :/ ><
